Armagh Zone won 3 of the National Championships at today's finals in Banbridge Leisure Centre. First to taste success was Michelle Wright, Irene Douglas and Lisa Richardson in the ladies triples with a comfortable win over M. McKee.
Next it was Zoe and Nathan Minish who defeated Lara Reaney and Chloe Wilson in a tie end in the final of the Junior Pairs. The locals were well down at the start of the game but fought back well to claim the title.
Joe Beattie played some great bowls to beat PJ Gallagher in the final of the Open Singles. It was a close affair for the 1st half of the 15 end game, but Joe found another gear in the 2nd half to pull to win with an end to spare.
Pauline Beattie lost out by a shot to 14 year old Rachel Cochrane in the final of the Ladies Singles. Lynda Lyttle and Paul Moffett also lost in the Over 55 Pairs to Valerie Witherow.
Congratulations also to Armagh junior player Devon Wallace who won the Junior Singles representing his home zone South Tyrone.
In the other finals the Stubbs brothers from Lisburn won the triples, Oriels Michael Hand won the pairs and Colm McHughs Mid Ulster rink won the fours.
